Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins are to reteam for a third instalment of Wonder Woman.
With sequel Wonder Woman 1984 currently on limited release in the UK due to the pandemic, Warner Brothers has acted quickly to confirm the continuation of the franchise.
Warner Bros. chief Toby Emmerich confirmed the news, writing: "As fans around the world continue to embrace Diana Prince, driving the strong opening weekend performance of ‘Wonder Woman 1984,’ we are excited to be able to continue her story with our real life Wonder Women — Gal and Patty — who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy."
There is no planned release date for the new movie as yet. Gadot and Jenkins have a busy schedule, both of them have a new take on Cleopatra in development at Paramount, while Jenkins is booked to direct new Star Wars movie Rogue Squadron. That is due in cinemas in December of 2023.

The film is set in 1984 and also sees the return of Pine's Steve Trevor, Prince's love interest who was presumed to have died during the events of the first film.
