Game Of Thrones' Kit Harrington to lead new Guy Fawkes drama for the BBC
Kit Harington, best known for his role as Jon Snow in Game Of Thrones, looks set to lead a new Guy Fawkes-inspired drama for the BBC.
According to Deadline, the series will be set in 1605 and based around British radical Fawkes and a group of provincial English Catholics who attempted to blow up the House of Lords in UK Parliament and kill King James I in order to help restore a Catholic to the crown.
Though Harington's involvement is yet to be fully confirmed, he has long-standing connections with the subject matter. Earlier this year he revealed that he is a direct descendant to Robert Catesby, one of Fawkes’ fellow plotters and that he has been working on a screenplay inspired by the events.
Whether this is the drama's screenplay or not is also yet to be confirmed.
Game Of Thrones' sixth season will be released on DVD on November 21st this year, a change from the previous routine which had seen the DVD coming out only a few weeks before the following season hit TV screens.
Season seven is due to hit screens next year, but will come to screens later than its usual April slot, with a summer arrival expecting for a seven-episode run.
