George R.R. Martin denies a Game Of Thrones movie is on the way

George R.R. Martin has denied that there are any plans for a Game Of Thrones movie.

There have been a series of reports this week that the hugely successful fantasy series will be turned into a movie, but taking to his blog, Martin has shot down the rumours.

He wrote: "Don’t believe everything you read, boys and girls. Especially not online. I don’t know where this latest round of ‘there’s going to be a ‘Game of Thrones’ movie’ nonsense is coming from, but suddenly it is everywhere, and all of us connected with the show and HBO are being bombarded. But nothing has changed."

The sixth season of Game Of Thrones is currently in production and will see Withnail & I's Richard E. Grant, Borgen's Pilou Asbæk, Deadwood star Ian McShane and Minority Report's Max von Syndow join the cast. It will be broadcast in the spring of next year.

Game Of Thrones' fifth season will be released on DVD next year. To check out each of the previous four seasons on DVD in our online store, click here.
