The clip was revealed yesterday (July 9th) during the show's panel at Comic Con where co-creator Steven Moffat also revealed that the special will be released into select cinemas during the festive period. There is currently no confirmed release date.
The special will see Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock and Martin Freeman's Watson in England in the 1890s, attempting to solve a particularly difficult murder mystery.
Speaking earlier this year about the special, Moffat revealed that the special is "a separate entity on its own", not the next chapter for Holmes and Watson.
He said: "The special is its own thing. We wouldn’t have done the story we’re doing, and the way we’re doing it, if we didn’t have this special. It’s not part of the run of three episodes. So we had this to do it – as we could hardly conceal – it’s Victorian. Mark Gatiss and me, we wanted to do this, but it had to be a special, it had to be separate entity on its own. It’s kind of in its own little bubble."
Series four of Sherlock is expected to be filmed in the spring of 2016.
