Glee star signs up to star in sequel to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Glee star Harry Shum Jr has signed up to play a leading role in the sequel to acclaimed martial arts thriller Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
The actor, who plays the role of Mike Chang on the hit teen musical drama, has signed up for a main role in the sequel, which is to be directed by Woo-Ping Yeun, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The new film, which has a script from John Fusco, writer of The Forbidden Kingdom, is set 20 years after the events of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and revolves around four heroes of the martial arts world. The heroes, named Silent Wolf, Yu Shu-lien, Tie-Fang and Snow Vase, must use their courage and skills to keep a legendary sword named Green Destiny from the hands of the villainous Hades Dai.
Michelle Yeoh and Donnie Yen have both already signed on for one of the film’s leading role.
Filming will begin shortly and will take place in China and New Zealand.
