Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody are big winners at 2019 Golden Globes

Bohemian Rhapsody and Green Book were the big winners at last night's Golden Globes.

The Queen biopic took home the award for Best Motion Picture in the Drama category, with star Rami Malek also picking up Best Actor in the same category.

Green Book won the same award in the Musical and Comedy category, with star Mahershala Ali also winning Best Supporting Actor and writers Peter Farrelly, Nick Vallelonga and Brian Currie winning the gong for Best Screenplay.

The other acting awards were spread evenly. Glenn Close won in the Drama Category for her role in The Wife, Christian Bale won in Musical and Comedy for his portrayal of Dick Cheney in Vice, Regina King won Supporting Actress for her heartbreaking performance in Barry Jenkins' If Beale Street Could Talk, and, as expected, Olivia Colman won Best Actress in Musical and Comedy for The Favourite.

There were also awards for First Man, Roma and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, while hot favourite A Star Is Born had to make do with the award for Best Original Song for 'Shallow'.

Comedian Andy Samberg and Killing Eve star Sandra Oh hosted the show, which took place at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
