Guardians of the Galaxy's Dave Bautista set to play villain in reboot of Highlander
Dave Bautista, star of Guardians Of The Galaxy and new James Bond movie Spectre, has reportedly signed up to play the villain in the big-budget reboot of 1980s cult action thriller Highlander.
Highlander originally starred Christopher Lambert, Connery, Clancy Brown, and Roxanne Hart, and told the story of Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish warrior on a quest for revenge against The Kurgan, a barbarian who has chased him across time as they battle for an all-powerful prize.
According to Latino Review, Bautista would take the part of The Kurgan, but there's still no confirmed word on who would take Lambert's role, Ryan Reynolds was attached at one time and rumours linked Tom Cruise to the part last year, but there's nothing concrete as yet.
Cedric Nicolas-Troyan will make his directorial debut on the reboot, working to a script written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway as well as Melissa Rosenberg.
Bautista currently filming Spectre and will play the role of a henchman named Mr Hinx.
