Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham to re-team for new thriller Five Eyes
Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie look set to re-team for a new thriller.
Ritchie and Statham first worked together on 1998's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and followed that up with subsequent collaborations on 2000's Snatch and 2005's Revolver.
They have just collaborated on Cash Truck, which is due out at the start of 2021, and look set to work together again on Five Eyes.
According to Deadline, Five Eyes will see Statham play Orson Fortune, an Mi6 agent who is recruited by global intelligence alliance ‘Five Eyes’ to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology.
Reluctantly paired with a CIA high-tech expert, Fortune is dispatched on a new mission to track down and infiltrate a billionaire arms broker.
Ritchie will direct and also acts as producer on the film, which has a screenplay written by Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies, who Ritchie worked with on his last movie, The Gentlemen.
Cash Truck, which is set for release in January next year, is a remake of the French film of the same name, which was made by Nicolas Boukhrief and released in 2004.
It sees Statham star alongside Scott Eastwood, Holt McCallany, Josh Harnett and rapper Post Malone.
Cash Truck follows H, who is responsible for moving hundreds of millions of dollars around Los Angeles each week, all before trouble hits...
