Harrison Ford escapes serious injury after plane crash
Harrison Ford is in a “fair to moderate” condition in hospital after being injured in a plane crash late last night in Los Angeles.
The actor reported engine failure and crash landed his 1942 Ryan Aeronautical ST3KR on a Venice golf course.
Ford’s son Ben tweeted that “Dad is OK. A bit battered but OK!”
Ford’s publicist elaborated on his condition, saying that they are not life threatening and that he is expected to make a complete and full recovery.
Gossip website TMZ, who first reported the story, claim that Ford has suffered “multiple gashes to his head.”
The incident happened shortly after take-off from Santa Monica airport. Ford attempted to return to the airport once his engine began experiencing trouble but was forced to land his aircraft on the 8th hole of the golf course, where he was immediately treated by two doctors who happened to be nearby.
Ford will reprise his role as Han Solo in the upcoming new Star Wars film from JJ Abrams and has also been linked with returns to the Blade Runner and Indiana Jones sequels.
