Harry Shearer, voice of Ned Flanders and Mr Burns, returns to The Simpsons
Harry Shearer, who provided the voices of Mr Burns, Smithers, Principal Skinner and Ned Flanders on The Simpsons, has reversed his decision to quit the show and has signed on for two further seasons.
Shearer had seemingly announced his departure on Twitter back in May, tweeting that producer James L. Brooks has informed him via his lawyer that he is free to leave the show.
But FOX, who produce the show, have now confirmed that Shearer as well as other main cast members Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith and Hank Azaria have all signed for a further two seasons of the show.
The Simpsons launched in 1989 and will reach its 625th epsiode at the end of its latest series. Two further seasons, the show's 27th and 28th, are now confirmed to be produced.
