Jack Black joins Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart in Jumanji remake

Jack Black will join Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Kevin Hart in the much-anticipated remake of Jumanji.

Black, who has recently starred in hit adventure Goosebumps, was confirmed in the role by Johnson last night (May 11th).

The remake of Jumanji had originally been due to be released in December this year, but has now been moved back by seven months to a new release date of July 28th in 2017. 

The original was released in 1995 and starred Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst, David Alan Grier and Bonnie Hunt. It followed the story of a 12-year-old boy who becomes trapped in a board game in 1969 and is released 26 years later. 

The remake will be directed by Jake Kasdan with a script written by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, it is expected to film this summer. 

Hart and Johnson will first team up for spy comedy Central Intelligence, which is due for release this summer. You can find more information about that movie here.
