Jake Gyllenhaal stars in the hard-hitting trailer for boxing drama Southpaw
The first trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal's new boxing drama Southpaw is now online, scroll down and click to watch it.
The drama tells the story of boxer Billy Hope, a successful fighter who loses everything after a brawl goes wrong. Subsequently, he is banned from the sport and has his daughter taken from him by children's services. He is then forced to fight his way back to the ring and to win his daughter's trust again.
The film, which was originally due to star Eminem in the lead role, is directed by The Equalizer's Antoine Fuqua and has a script from Sons Of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter. Starring alongside Gyllenhaal are Rachel McAdams, Naomie Harris, Forest Whitaker, Victor Ortiz, Rita Ora, Tyrese Gibson and Miguel Gomez.
Southpaw is due for release this summer, with a confirmed release date of July 31st in the US and Canada.
