James Bond producers to bring back Blofeld for Bond 24?
According to reports over the weekend, Blofeld, the iconic villain who has featured in six previous James Bond films, will be returning in the next Bond film.
The Daily Mail reports that double Oscar winner Christoph Waltz will take the role, which will be confirmed at a press conference in early December.
Ernst Stavro Blofeld has appeared in six James Bond films, beginning with From Russia with Love and including Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Diamonds Are Forever and For Your Eyes Only, which was the character's last appearance. He has been played by Donald Pleasence, Telly Savalas, Charles Gray and Max von Sydow.
A source told the Mail that the character will be updated to reflect the darker, grittier tone of Daniel Craig's James Bond films.
Last month it was reported that Dave Bautista, best known for playing man mountain Drax in this summer's box-office hit Guardians Of The Galaxy, will also have a role in Bond 24, while Blue Is The Warmest Colour star Lea Seydoux is also strongly rumoured to be in the cast.
Skyfall director Sam Mendes will return to the director's chair for the next James Bond film, which has a script from John Logan.
The film is set to be Daniel Craig's penultimate outing as Bond, with the actor now only contracted for two more films. The film is currently scheduled to be released on October 23rd in 2015.
