James Franco joins cast of Alien: Covenant, new stills from movie available
James Franco has joined the cast of Alien: Covenant.
According to Variety, Franco has been an unknown role in the new movie, while a selection of new stills from the movie has also been unveiled, you can see it below:
Alien: Covenant will star Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace, who return from Prometheus. They are joined by a newly cast Danny McBride, Katherine Waterston, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez, Billy Crudup, Alexander England and Benjamin Rigby.
Earlier this year the movie saw its release date brought forward. The movie was originally due to be released on August 4th next year, but has now seen its release date brought forward to May 19th in 2017.
It is the follow-up to Prometheus, which was released in 2012 and served as a origin story to Alien, it also starred Charlize Theron, Idris Elba and Guy Pearce.
A further sequel to Alien, this time directed by District 9's Neill Blomkamp, was in pre-production last year and was set to shoot in 2017, but has now been put on hold due to Scott's new plans.
