James Gunn gives update on start date for Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3

Director James Gunn has provided an update on the start date for the third instalment of Guardians Of The Galaxy.

Gunn, who had directed both previous instalments of the hit Marvel adaptation, was removed from his role after offensive tweets were discovered from earlier in his career.

However, Disney reversed their decision subsequently and have re-hired Gunn to take charge of the movie.

Before the re-hiring, however, Gunn accepted an offer from Warner Brothers to reboot Suicide Squad.

Gunn is currently filming the reboot, which will release in the summer of 2021.

Answering a fan question on Instagram about the status of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, the director confirmed that the wait will be a long one.

He said: "I won't start filming for a year or so."

Gunn's reboot The Suicide Squad will arrive in August 2021.

You can check out both previous instalments of Guardians Of The Galaxy here in hmv's online store.
