James McAvoy to go bald for X-Men: Apocalypse

James McAvoy has spoken about the next X-Men film, X-Men: Apocalypse, and suggested that he will finally be shaving his head to recreate Professor Xavier’s bald famous look.

Speaking to The Huffington Post, McAvoy divulged a few details about the sequel to this year’s X-Men: Days Of Future Past. “I’ll be older in this one. And I think I’m losing my hair finally,” he said. “That’s kind of all I know.”

In the comics and cartoon, X-Men founder Charles Xavier is famously bald and wheelchair-bound. For the original three movies Patrick Stewart played Xavier without hair, but when James McAvoy took over the role in the 1960s set prequel X-Men: First Class we got to see a young Professor X walking with a full head of hair. At the end of First Class he lost the use of his legs at the hands of Magneto, but fans have speculated about when he would get his iconic bald head.

X-Men: Apocalypse is due to start filming early next year and will hit UK cinemas May 19th 2016.
