Jaume Collet-Serra has chosen to direct Disney's new adventure Jungle Cruise over the sequel to Suicide Squad.
The director, who is currently readying his new movie The Commuter, which sees him reunite with Liam Neeson and is due out in 2018, had been thought to be nailed on take charge of the blockbuster sequel, but has now changed his mind.
According to Deadline, Jungle Cruise is based on the classic theme park attraction that takes guests on a guided tour through the rivers around the world and will star Dwane 'The Rock' Johnson in the lead role.
Warner Brothers will now begin the search for a new director for the Suicide Squad sequel.
Before any sequel to Suicide Squad, star Margot Robbie is to reunite with original director David Ayer for Gotham City Sirens, a new movie that will unite DC's most iconic female villains. It will see Robbie's Harley Quinn will team up with the likes of Catwoman and Poison Ivy to form a brand new team.
The script for the movie has been written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who has written the script for the Tomb Raider reboot and the forthcoming third instalment of Sherlock Holmes.
As well as this new project Warner Brothers have also revealed that they are developing a spin-off for Deadshot, Will Smith's character in Suicide Squad.
