Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern and Sam Neill to return for Jurassic World 3
Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum are to reprise their roles in the third instalment of Jurassic World.
Dern will play Dr. Ellie Sattler, Neill will portray Dr. Alan Grant and Goldblum will return as Dr. Ian Malcolm, the characters each played in the original Jurassic Park.
Colin Trevorrow will direct the third movie in the series after handing over control to Juan Antonio Bayona for last summer's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
Trevorrow wrote the script with regular collaborator Derek Connolly and will work with Pacific Rim: Uprising scribe Emily Carmichael on the third movie. Trevorrow and Connolly have supplied the story for the third outing.
Previously, speaking to fansite Jurassic Outpost, Trevorrow gave an update on his plans for the third film. He also shot down the rumoured plan for the movie, which involved humanity at war with dinosaurs.
He said of this: "Dinosaurs can't organise. Right now we’ve got lethal predators in wild areas surrounding cities all over the world, [but] they don’t go pack hunting for humans in urban areas. The world I get excited about is the one where it’s possible that a dinosaur might run out in front of your car on a foggy backroad, or invade your campground looking for food."
He continued: "A world where dinosaur interaction is unlikely but possible — the same way we watch out for bears or sharks. We invade their territory and pay the price, but we don’t go to war with them. If that was the case, we’d have lost that war a long time ago."
Jurassic World 3 will be released into UK cinemas on June 21st in 2021.
