Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and more to return for X-Men: Dark Phoenix, release date confirmed
Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult have signed on to return for X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
The follow-up to X-Men: Apocalypse is expected to go into full production later this year, with Simon Kinberg, writer on both Apocalypse and previous instalment Days Of Future Past, now stepping up to direct.
There had been some doubt about whether the likes of Lawrence and Fassbender would be back, but according to Deadline they have now signed on to do so, as have Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
Jessica Chastain is now in talks to join the movie in the role of Shi’ar Empress Lilandra. In the comic books, Lilandra is the empress of an alien empire called the Shi’ar who are tasked with capturing and executing the dark phoenix. She is also a long-term love interest of Charles Xavier.
The movie will be released into cinemas on November 2nd in 2018.
