Jennifer Lawrence set for leading role in Spielberg war movie
The Hunger Games star is set to star in an adaptation of Lynsey Addario’s ‘It’s What I Do: A Photographers Life of Love and War’
As per reports in Deadline this morning, Jennifer Lawrence looks set to sign on the dotted line to appear in Warner Bros. mooted film about photojournalist Lynsey Addario. Steven Spielberg is floating over the project but it's presently unclear whether he'll serve in a directorial or production capacity.
The novel has been a very hot topic in Hollywood since it was serialised in the New York Times, leading to a bidding war between various studios to get their hands on the property which tells the story of the post-9/11 war in Afghanistan through the eyes and the lens of the much-respected photographer.
Addario focused on the plight of Afghans with her work and how they suffered throughout the Taliban regime and Iraq war.
She was also kidnapped by pro Gaddafi forces, an incident which is expected to feature heavily in the film.
There is no other potential casting news just yet but you can expect to hear a lot more about this project if and when it gets the final green light.
