Jodie Whittaker stars in first teaser for new series of Doctor Who
As if a World Cup final wasn't enough excitement for a Sunday afternoon, the BBC delivered even more fun for Doctor Who fans yesterday, offering a first look at Jodie Whittaker and her new companions in the show's upcoming 13th series in a new teaser trailer. Click below to watch it:
Just 40 seconds long, the trailer offers the first glimpse of Whittaker as the 13th Doctor since her appearance in the 2017 Christmas special 'Twice Upon a Time', as well as a first look at her new co-stars Tosin Cole, Mandip Gill and Bradley Walsh.
The new trailer gives nothing away in terms of the plot of the new series, but it was enough to set social media buzzing with anticipation. Broadchurch showrunner Chris Chibnall, who has previously worked on Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood, replaces Steven Moffat as the man in charge of the new series.
The BBC have yet to announce the broadcast date of the first episode on the long-running sci-fi show's 13th series, but have confirmed that the new series will run later this year between September 23rd and December 21st.
