Joe Manganiello joins Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman in The Kill Room
At the beginning of April it was revealed that Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman would be among the cast for a new adaptation of Jeffery Deaver’s dark comedy thriller The Kill Room, directed by Nicol Paone, which tells the story of a hitman involved in a money-laundering scheme which sees him accidentally become an overnight sensation in the avant-garde art world.
Now the film appears to have found its hitman, with Spider-Man and Magic Mike XXL star Joe Manganiello, recently seen making a cameo in the role of Deathstroke in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, stepping into the starring role. Jackson is set to star as the hitman’s boss, with Thurman playing the role of the film’s shady art dealer.
The film will be Paone’s second stint in the director’s chair after making her directorial debut in 2020 with comedy-drama Friendsgiving, with Jonathan Jacobson providing the script doe the new adaptation.
There’s no confirmed release date as yet, but the film is reportedly due to begin production this year and could arrive on screens as early as 2023.
