John Boyega reveals Star Wars Episode IX will begin production in July
John Boyega has revealed that production on Star Wars Episode IX will get underway in July.
Boyega, who is currently promoting Pacific Rim: Uprising, told the BBC that he didn't know any details about the story, but he knew when he'd be getting back to work.
He said when asked about Star Wars Episode IX: "I don't know a thing, but I know I start filming in July. They're prepping and planning. JJ has a script, but I just haven't read it yet."
Director JJ Abrams, who was in the director's chair for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will take charge of Episode IX, having replaced Colin Trevorrow, who stepped down from the project in September.
Abrams will be co-writing Episode IX along with Chris Terrio, whose previous screenwriting credits include Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and Argo, for which Terrio won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.
