Jude Law set to star in Captain Marvel
Jude Law is set to star in Captain Marvel.
According to Variety, Law, who is currently filming the sequel to Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, has signed up to star alongside Brie Larson in the new blockbuster.
Oscar-winning actress Larson will take the role of Captain Marvel, which is the story of Carol Danvers, an air force pilot whose DNA is fused with that of an alien during an accident. The resulting alteration imbues her with the superpowers of strength, energy project and flight.
Law looks set to play Doctor Walter Lawson, also known as Mar-Vell, who becomes a mentor of sorts to Danvers as she tries to figure out her new powers.
Ben Mendohlsen, star of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Bloodline, will play the movie's villain, the leader of the Skrulls, a race of alien shapeshifters hellbent on destroying Earth.
Guardians Of The Galaxy's Nicole Perlman and Inside Out's Meg LeFauve have written the script for the movie, while Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, the pair who have worked together on films such as Sugar and Mississippi Grind, will direct.
Captain Marvel is due for release on March 8th in 2019.
