Julia Roberts joins cast of US remake of The Secret In Their Eyes
Julia Roberts has signed up for a leading role in the US remake of The Secret In Their Eyes.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chiwetel Ejiofor have already signed up to be part of the cast of the film, which is a remake of the 2009 Argentinian thriller, which scooped an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, reports the Hollywood Reporter.
The film is being written by Billy Ray, who has been behind the camera on 2003 Shattered Glass and 2007's Breach, who has rewritten the screenplay especially for Roberts. The Argentinian version features two male leads, but one of these roles will now be taken by Roberts.
The Secret In Their Eyes follows the travails of a retired Argentinian federal justice agent, who is writing a novel and hoping to find closure for one of his past unresolved homicide cases.
Julia Roberts was most recently on screen in HBO's acclaimed TV movie The Normal Heart, which also starred Mark Ruffalo, Taylor Kitsch and Jim Parsons.
