Best TV of July 2019: previews five of the best shows... previews five of the most exciting TV dramas that will be coming to your screens in July...

The romping drama comes to a climax with the show's fifth and final run airing next month. 

Now back in his native Cornwall, the final season will see Aidan Turner's Ross Poldark trying to reconnect with his roots and enjoy the quiet life.

Sadly though, that dream doesn't last for long...

300's Vincent Regan and Grantchester's Sofia Oxenham are among the new additions for the new season. 





The third and final season from the hugely acclaimed X-Men spin-off arrives on screens next month. 

The season will run to eight episodes and sees Dan Stevens returning to star.

As well as Stevens, Rachel Keller, Aubrey Plaza, Bill Irwin, Navid Negahban, Jeremie Harris, Amber Midthunder and Hamish Linklater all back for the new run, while Harry Lloyd joins the cast as one Professor Charles Xavier. 

This time, we Stevens' David Haller basically running a cult as he takes us through a strange journey of psychedelic wonder and madness...

The curtain also comes down on this Sherlock Holmes re-working after seven seasons. 

Jonny Lee Miller's Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu's Dr. Joan Watson will return for 13 more episodes. 

For their final hurrah, Holmes and Watson will be tasked with solving the attempted murder of Aidan Quinn's Captain Gregson, it's a case that's going to push them both to the limit...

The hit comedy returns for a third run in July, with Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Haden Church returning to star once again. 

For the new six-part series, we find Parker's Frances and Haden Church's Robert both beginning new relationships with attempting to keep their children's lives on the straight and narrow. 

Molly Shannon, Becki Newton, Talia Balsam, Sterling Jerins, Tracy Letts and Charlie Kilgore will co-star. 



LA's Finest



Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union lead this fearsome cop drama, which is a spin-off from classic movie Bad Boys. 

Union plays Syd Burnett, a former DEA agent transferred to become an LAPD detective. She is the sister of Martin Lawrence's Marcus Burnett, while Alba plays Nancy McKenna, her new partner. 

The pair take an uncompromising approach to law enforcement as they hunt down a drug lord known as Gabriel Knox...

Duane Martin, Zach Gilford, Ryan McPartlin, Sophie Reynolds and Ernie Hudson co-star in this series, which has already been confirmed for a second run.
