Killing Eve renewed for third season, new showrunner announced

Killing Eve has been renewed for a third season.

Starring Doctor Foster breakout star Jodie Comer and Grey's Anatomy's Sandra Oh, Killing Eve follows Oh's Eve Polastri, a desk-bound MI5 officer, who is tasked with tracking down psychopathic assassin Villanelle, while both women become obsessed with each other.

The show's third season will also see a new showrunner. For the third run, Suzanne Heathcote, who has written for Fear the Walking Dead), will take charge.

She takes over from Emerald Fennell, who herself took over running the show from Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who had developed and adapted the first season from Luke Jennings's acclaimed Codename Villanelle novella series.

The second series of the show premiered over the weekend in the US on BBC America, but a UK air date has yet to be confirmed.
