Lana Condor to play Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse
Director Bryan Singer has revealed that actress Lana Condor will make her debut as Jubilee in new blockbuster X-Men: Apocalypse.
The actress's (pictured below) casting was revealed on Instagram last nightm by Singer himself. She will play Jubilee, who has prevously been played by actresses Katrina Florence and Kea Wong in the earlier X-Men movies. The character's principal power is the ability to make explosions and fire with her hands.
Condor joins the newly cast star of Game Of Thrones Sophie Turner, who most people will know as Sansa Stark, who will play young Jean Grey, who was brought to life in the original trilogy by Famke Janssen.
Alexandra Shipp, who recently starred as Aaliyah in the Lifetime biopic Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B, will play the younger Storm, played originally by Halle Berry, Kodi Smit-McPhee, star of The Road, will play young Nightcrawler, and Tye Sheridan, who has starred in Mud and Tree Of Life, will portray a younger Cyclops, a character played originally by James Marsden. Ben Hardy, who most recently starred as Peter Beale in Eastenders, has been cast in an yet unknown role.
Oscar Isaac has been cast as the film's key villain, Apocalypse, who was first seen in the post-credit sequence for X-Men: Days of Future Past. The film will be released on May 19th 2016 in the UK and May 27th in the US.
