Logan director James Mangold to write and direct Star Wars Boba Fett spin-off
James Mangold, director of the Wolverine trilogy, is to write and direct a Star Wars spin-off based around the character of Boba Fett.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mangold will work with X-Men key man Simon Kinberg on the script, which will be centred around Boba Fett.
Fett is a feared bounty hunter who featured in both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as a minion employed by both Darth Vader and Jabba the Hutt.
Mangold will first direct a new motor racing drama, Ford vs Ferrari, this summer before he focuses on Boba Fett.
Boba Fett is on a number of Star Wars spin-offs in development, including Obi-Wan Kenobi, which has Stephen Daldry in negotiations to direct.
The latest spin-off, Solo - A Star Wars Story is in cinemas now and available to pre-order in four formats from hmv’s online store.
