Lone Survivor star Ben Foster to join Tom Hanks in cast for Dan Brown's Inferno
Ben Foster, star of Lone Survivor and the early X-Men movies, looks set to join the cast of Inferno, the third instalment based on the Dan Brown novel series that began with The Da Vinci Code.
Foster, who has just finished filming his role on the much-anticipated Warcraft movie, is in talks to play a key villainous role in the new adaptation.
In Inferno Tom Hanks will reprise his role as Professor Robert Langdon, who in this instalment awakens in an Italian hospital with amnesia. Once out, he teams up with Sienna Brooks, a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories and prevent a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante’s Inferno.
The Theory Of Everything star Jones will play Brooks, while Life of Pi actor Irrfan Khan will play Harry Sims. Also confirmed for the movie are X-Men: Days of Future Past and future Jurassic World star Omar Sy, who will play Christoph Bruder and Borgen's Sidse Babett Knudsen, who is to portray Dr Elizabeth Sinskey, head of the World Health Organisation.
Tom Hanks has played Langdon twice before, in 2006's The Da Vinci Code and 2009's Angels And Demons, between them the films have grossed over a billion dollars at the box office.
Howard, who will once be behind the camera on Inferno, is currently preparing his new epic In The Heart Of The Sea for a March 2015 release.
