Madonna to co-write and direct her own biopic
Madonna will direct and co-write a biopic based on her own life.
The singer has teamed up with Universal Pictures on the movie and will work with Juno scribe Diablo Cody on the script.
According to Deadline, the film, which has the working title of Live To Tell, will be produced by former Sony head honcho Amy Pascal.
Madonna will not act in the film, but she will lead a search for a young actress to take on the role.
Speaking about the project, the singer said: "I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer – a human being, trying to make her way in this world."
She continued: "The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me. It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision."
Madonna is the best-selling female artist of all-time with career sales in excess of 335 million records worldwide. She has released 14 studio albums in a career that has spanned more than 40 years.
