Man jailed for six months for stealing wreckage from Paul Walker crash scene
An 18-year old man has been jailed for six months after being found guilty of stealing wreckage from the scene of the car crash that resulted in the death of Fast And Furious star Paul Walker.
Jameson Witty of Tujunga, California was sentenced to six months in jail after being convicted yesterday (August 14th), his accomplice, who has yet to be named, is due to stand trial in October, reports TMZ.
Witty and his accomplice were caught on camera picking off parts of the wreckage from the Porsche Carrera GT at around 10pm on the evening of November 30th 2013, after the tow truck tasked with removing it from the scene in Santa Clarita, California stopped at a set of traffic lights.
The truck's driver then drove straight to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, where he made a statement to police. Witty also posted about his find on Instagram.
Production on Fast 7, the new instalment of the hugely successful franchise, wrapped earlier this summer when the cast postponed an emotional letter, in which they pay tribute to former co-star Paul Walker, who died tragically earlier this year.
