Marvel boss Kevin Feige reveals how many movies Tom Holland has signed up for as Spider-Man
Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has revealed how many movies Tom Holland has signed up for as Spider-Man.
Holland makes his standalone debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming after first starring in Captain America: Civil War and Feige has revealed he is under contract for three further films.
He told the Toronto Sun: "We are looking at a five-movie storyline — Civil War, Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, untitled Avengers, Homecoming 2 — or whatever we end up calling it — as an amazing five-story journey for Peter Parker."
He continued: "In the way that the events of Civil War directly inform the opening of Homecoming and his state of mind as he goes back to high school, so too will the events of the next two Avengers movies as he continues with high school. This original 22-movie arc ends with the untitled Avengers in May of 2019 and then two months later it will be Peter and Spider-Man that usher us into the aftermath and how things proceed from there."
Starring alongside Holland are Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Angourie Rice, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr. Cop Car director Jon Watts is in the director's chair.
In this new movie, we find Peter Parker trying to balance his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens, New York City with fighting crime as his superhero alter ego Spider-Man while trying to impress his mentor, Mr Tony Stark. His biggest challenge comes from Keaton's Vulture, the movie's key villain.
The movie hits cinemas today (July 5th) and is available to pre-order on DVD, Blu-Ray, 4K and limited edition Blu-Ray steelbook from hmv’s online store here.
