Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige developing new Star Wars movie
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is to oversee a new Star Wars movie.
Feige will work alongside Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy to develop and produce the movie.
Speaking about the decision, Walt Disney Studios co-chairman and chief creative officer Alan Horn told the Hollywood Reporter: "We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox."
He continued: "With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together."
The future of Star Wars is still being planned with the final instalment in the Skywalker saga, Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, arriving this year on December 19th.
At present, three new Star Wars movies are planned to come to cinemas in 2022, 2024 and 2026, with Game Of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss overseeing those.
As well as that, there is a new trilogy The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson has been working. It's not known where Feige's project fits into the plan or when it will emerge.
