Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson to star in American Horror Story: Hotel, but Jessica Lange will not return
Matt Bomer, star of Magic Mike and hit drama White Collar, and Cheyenne Jackson, best known for his role on Behind The Candelabra, will star in the fifth season of American Horror Story, which is titled American Horror Story: Hotel.
Bomer will take the leading role in the new series, a role which will see him star opposite Lady Gaga, who signed on to star earlier this month. Jackson's role is a supporting one.
The announcement of Bomer's casting was made to Entertainment Weekly at Paleyfest, where it was also confirmed that Jessica Lange, who has starred in each of the four seasons of American Horror Story so far, will not be returning.
She said: "I’m done. We’ve had a great run here. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters that I’ve had the opportunity to play. In all the madness, I’ve loved the writers, my actors, Ryan and the whole, I mean, insanity of it, shooting here, shooting in New Orleans, the stories, everything."
The fourth season of the series, American Horror Story: Freak Show, will be released on DVD in October.
