Matthew McConaughey, Charlize Theron and Rooney Mara have signed up to be among the voice cast for the new animated adventure Kubo and the Two Strings.
The film, which is set in Ancient Japan, will be directed by Travis Knight and comes from a new script from Marc Haimes and ParaNorman writer-director Chris Butler, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Ralph Fiennes, Brenda Vaccaro and Art Parkinson, best known for his role as Rickon Stark on Game On Thrones, will also lend their voices to the film, with Parkinson voicing the title character.
Kubo and the Two Strings will showcase the adventure of the kindhearted Kubo, who lives a humble life devotedly caring for his mother in their sleepy shoreside village in Ancient Japan.

The film will be a 3D stop-motion and CG hybrid and is due for release on August 19th in 2016.
