Matthew Vaughn in early talks for Man Of Steel sequel
Matthew Vaughn is in early talks to direct the sequel to Man Of Steel.
According to Collider, preliminary conversations have already taken place and while there is no deal on the table for Vaughn yet, he is the top choice for Warner Brothers to direct the sequel.
Man Of Steel was released in the summer of 2013, taking over $660 million at the box office, no sequel has been developed in the years in between with the company instead focused on the wider DC cinematic universe, but work is now starting in earnest on the sequel, though no release date is in place.
Vaughn is currently working on the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service which is to be titled Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
Kingsman: The Secret Service starred newcomer Taron Egerton, Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson as the movie's villain. It told the story of Eggsy, a part-time ne'er-do-well and full-time loud mouth who looks all set for a life of petty crime until he is offered the chance to try out to become a Kingsman, a highly secretive, but extremely badass set of super spies, who step in to prevent international calamities.
In the sequel Julianne Moore will take over as the key villain, Pedro Pascal, Channing Tatum, Elton John and Halle Berry have already been cast in key roles, while Mark Strong and Colin Firth are back to reprise their roles.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is due for release on September 29th. You can check out the original move here in hmv's online store.
