Matthew Vaughn reveals he plans to make both a Kick-Ass prequel and sequel
Matthew Vaughn has revealed that he is planning to make both a prequel and sequel to Kick-Ass.
Vaughn directed Kick-Ass, but stepped aside for the sequel and left Never Back Down director Jeff Wadlow to write and direct, but he's now revealed he wants to return to the franchise and is looking to make a prequel with Hit Girl and Big Daddy, the characters played by Chloë Grace Moretz and Nicolas Cage in the original movie.
Speaking to Yahoo Movies, Vaughn said when asked if he'd consider returning to the world of Kick Ass: "I'm not happily done with it. We’re working on an idea for a prequel of how did Hit Girl and Big Daddy become Hit Girl and Big Daddy."
He continued: "If we make that, hopefully that will be the sorbet for the people that didn’t like Kick-Ass 2 and then we can go off and make Kick-Ass 3. I think we’ve got to do this prequel to regain the love that we had with Kick-Ass."
