Michael B. Jordan to be Tom Clancy's John Clark
Creed star Michael B. Jordan has been cast as John Clark for a new series of action thrillers.
Clark was created by Tom Clancy, best known for his Jack Ryan series of books and begins as a colleague of Ryan's, before stepping into the spotlight with his own books.
According to Variety, two of Clancy's novels are eyed for the movie series, 1988's Without Remorse and 1998's Rainbow Six. Without Remorse is set to be filmed first and serve as an origin story for the series.
Clark is John Terrence Kelly, an ex-Navy Seal-turned-operations officer for the CIA.
The character has been played twice before, first by Willem Dafoe in Clear and Present Danger, which starred Harrison Ford as Ryan, then again by Liev Schreiber in The Sum of All Fears, which starred Ben Affleck as Ryan.
Paramount are currently meeting with writers and directors for the new franchise.
Jordan will next be seen reprising his role as Adonis Creed in the sequel to Rocky spin-off Creed 2. That hits cinemas in November.
