Michael Bay to produce new Dora The Explorer movie franchise
Michael Bay has revealed he is to produce a new franchise based on the beloved kids' TV series Dora The Explorer.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Nick Stoller, best known for The Muppets and both Bad Neighbours movies, will write the script, with Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Andrew Form and Brad Fuller producing for Paramount.
The TV series has run for 15 years and follows Dora, a seven-year-old girl tasked with solving on-screen puzzles with the help of her red boot wearing monkey Boots and her talking backpack.
The movie will be live-action and will find Dora, not as a seven-year-old as she is on the TV series, but now a teenager who moves to the city to live with her cousin Diego.
