Michael Cera to voice Robin in Lego Batman movie
Juno star Michael Cera has signed up to voice the part of Robin in the new Lego Batman movie.
Cera will reunite with Will Arnett, who he co-stars with on Arrested Development, for the new movie with Arnett playing the role of The Dark Knight. Cera has reportedly turned down a key role in Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beats and Where To Find Them to take on the role.
Chris McKay, the animation supervisor on The Lego Movie, will direct Lego Batman, with Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies author Seth Grahame-Smith writing the script.
The spin-off is set to be released before the sequel to The Lego Movie itself, with Lego Batman due for release in February 2017 and the sequel set for release in May 2018.
The Lego Movie was a huge hit earlier this year, raking in almost $500 million at the box office. As well as Arnett, it featured the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Nick Offerman, Alison Brie, Charlie Day, Liam Neeson, and Morgan Freeman.
