Michael Fassbender to lead new spy thriller Malko
Michael Fassbender is to lead Malko, a new spy thriller.
According to Variety, Fassbender will star in the film, which is based on Gerard de Villiers’ S.A.S. series of books.
Eric Warren Singer, writer of Only The Brave and American Hustle, will work on the screenplay for Lionsgate.
There's plenty of material to draw on for the series, with de Villiers' S.A.S. running to over 200 books.
The books follow follows Malko Linge, an Austrian nobleman and freelance CIA operative who spent his formative years in a special Nazi work camp for captured spies.
Malko will adapt the first of de Villiers' books, 1973's Checkpoint Charlie.
Fassbender is currently in cinemas as part of X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
