The film tells the story of James Figueras, an art critic who is down on his luck and has been reduced to lecturing tourists about art history.
His luck begins to change when first, he finds a newfound love interest in enigmatic American, Debicki's Berenice Hollis, and a new opportunity when he is contacted by wealthy art dealer Joseph Cassidy.
Cassidy summons James to his villa on Lake Como and asks him to steal a painting from the legendary reclusive artist, Jerome Debney. It's a decision that will change everything...
Claes Bang, best known for his portrayal of Dracula for BBC One last year, plays Figueras, with Jagger playing Cassidy. Donald Sutherland is Debney, with Rosalind Halstead and Alessandro Fabrizi also in the cast.
The film is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Charles Willeford. Giuseppe Capotondi, whose credits include Berlin Station and Endeavour, directs.
It marks Mick Jagger's first credited acting role in almost 20 years, the last time he was on screen in a named role was in 2001 with drama, The Man From Elysian Fields.
The Burnt Orange Heresy is due in UK cinemas on October 30th.
