Miranda Hart confirms her sitcom Miranda will end after Christmas specials
Miranda Hart has revealed that two Christmas specials, which will be broadcast later this year, are the last you will see of her sitcom Miranda.
The series began in 2009 on BBC Two, before moving to BBC One later on. It has run for three full series.
Speaking to BBC Radio 2's Steve Wright in an interview to promote her new book, Hart said when asked why she was releasing the book now: "Well, [it's] because I'm actually coming to the end of the whole sitcom. This is the first time I'm saying it out loud, so it's a bit weird!."
She continued: "So I'm doing two Christmas specials, but they are going to be the finale of the show, full stop. So I wanted to do a book to celebrate the series and celebrate all the people who have supported it and watched it, so they get to see the scripts and some backstage gossip and all that sort of thing."
The show also starred Sarah Hadland, Patricia Hodge, Tom Ellis and Sally Phillips. Full details of the Christmas specials will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
