Mum’s List - What You Need To Know
St John Greene’s novel bestselling novel, which tells the heartbreaking story of his wife’s battle with cancer, comes to DVD shelves on Monday (March 20th). Here is everything you need to know about it...
Who’s in it?
Emilia Fox stars as Greene’s wife Kate with Rafe Spall playing Singe (St John Greene himself). There are also roles for No Offence’s Elaine Cassidy, Marcella and Dickensian star Richard Cordery and Emmerdale regular Neil Roberts.
And who’s behind the camera?
Niall Johnson, who has also written and directed White Noise and The Big Swap, is on directing duties. He also adapted the novel for the screen.
What’s the plot?
We meet Kate and Singe when they’re happily enjoying life as young parents to their two sons, but then their life is thrown for a loop when Kate is diagnosed with incurable breast cancer.
Singe is determined to make the best of the time they have left and to remember her long after she has gone. To help with this, Kate makes a list of instructions, requests and memories to help her husband look after their young sons without her.
Does it deliver?
If you’re in the mood for a cry then most definitely. This is a full on weep-a-thon in the vein of Me Before You and A Walk To Remember. Love those? You’ll love this.
