Muppets Most Wanted – Five Reasons You'll Love It

As Muppets Most Wanted, the sequel to 2011's beloved revamp of Kermit, Fozzy Bear, Miss Piggy and co comes into cinemas, we went along for a preview and have come up with five reasons why you'll love it...

It's just as silly as last time…

The plot kind of revolves around Ricky Gervais's character Dominic BadGuy and evil frog/Kermit lookalike Constantine trying to get the Muppets to provide a cover story for his attempt to steal the crown jewels, but it's as loose as loose can be, it's basically one long musical variety come sketch show and all the better for it.

It manages to move on without Jason Segel

The biggest worry with this sequel was that Jason Segel, the man who had masterminded the Muppets' revamp, was not involved in this film at all. But, thankfully, his writing partner Nicholas Stoller and director James Bobin have coped fine without him, this is just as funny and just as charming.

It's got more Animal…

Perhaps the most beloved of the Muppets, the fuzzy maniac never gets many lines, but this time he's front and centre, delivering some of the film's funniest moments. About time too.

It's got just as many great songs as last time…

Granted there's nothing that on the level of 'Man Or Muppet', but there's lot of great musical numbers, tender moments and some amazing turns of phrase. Look out for 'The Big House' and 'Something So Right' in particular.

It's just as packed full of awesome cameos…

Lady Gaga, Tom Hollander, Hugh Bonneville, P. Diddy, Tom Hiddleston, we could go on, but there are just so many…

Muppets Most Wanted is in cinemas from Friday (March 28th).
