Naomie Harris in talks for villain role in Venom 2
Naomi Harris is in talks to play a villain in the sequel to Venom.
According to Deadline, Harris's likely role will be sonic-powered villain Shriek.
Shriek is Frances Barrison, a drug dealer who becomes exposed to something that allowed her latent mutant powers.
If talks are successful, Harris will join Woody Harrelson as a villain in the sequel. Harrelson is booked to play serial killer Cletus Kasaday, the human host for the even more dangerous creature known as Carnage.
Venom, which starred Tom Hardy, grossed over $850 million at the box office, leading Sony to quickly green-light a sequel.
Andy Serkis will direct the sequel, taking over from Ruben Fleischer. It is due in cinemas on October 2nd in 2020.
Venom starred Hardy as Eddie Brock, a journalist who begins looking into the work of Carlton Drake and his company The Life Foundation, who he believes are experimenting on humans.
Through an accident at the foundation, Brock becomes bonded with an alien symbiote. The symbiote needs a human host to survive, who, in return, vests its victim with incredible powers...
