Narcos star Pedro Pascal joins the cast of Wonder Woman 2
The upcoming Wonder Woman sequel has added another cast member this week with the news that Pedro Pascal, best-known for his roles as DEA agent Javier Peña in hit Netflix series Narcos and as Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones, has signed on for a “pivotal” role in Wonder Woman 2.
Up until now, only Gal Gadot and Kristen Wiig had been confirmed, with the former reprising her role as the titular hero and her alter-ego Diana Prince, the latter in the role of Cheetah, who is understood to be the film's main villain.
Patty Jenkins retruns to write and direct the sequel, which is scheduled to begin shooting this summer, but as yet the details of the plot have been scarce, with the exact nature of Pascal's role also being kept under wraps for the time being. Pascal and Jenkins have previously worked together on the Jenkins-directed pilot for TV series Exposed.
The film is currently slated for release in November and is expected to arrive in U.S. cinemas on November 1st 2019, but no firm release date for the UK has been mooted as yet.
