Portman stars as pop singer Celeste and charts her journey from a devastating personal tragedy to superstardom, tracing her life over a period of 18 years and incorporating various cultural events through her eyes.
After being talent-spotted while singing at a memorial service, Celeste begins her journey to pop success with the help of her songwriting sister Eleanor (played by Stacy Martin), but her rise to fame coincides with a deadly terrorist attack which elevates her to a new level of celebrity.
Jude Law also stars as Celeste's manager, featuring alongside a cast that includes Willem Defoe, Christopher Abbott and Jennifer Ehle.
Corbett's film has yet to receive a UK-wide release date, although it did feature at this year's London Film Festival, but is due to arrive in cinemas in the US on December 7th.
