New images and full synopsis for Blade Runner 2049, the long-awaited sequel to Blade Runner, have been unveiled. You can see the images below:
The sequel to the iconic sci-fi thriller will star a returning Harrison Ford along with Dave Bautista, Robin Wright, Barkhad Abdi and Ryan Gosling as well as Jared Leto.
Denis Villeneuve, best known for his work on Sicario and Prisoners, has taken Ridley Scott's place in the director's chair, working from a script by Alien: Covenant scribe Michael Green and original co-writer Hampton Fancher.
Earlier this year the sequel was brought forward, it originally was due to hit cinemas on January 12th in 2018, but has now moved up to October 6th in 2017. The first trailer was released last month and can be seen at the bottom of the page.
The movie's full synopsis, which has also been unveiled, reads as follows: "Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years."
Released in 1982, the original movie was set in a dystopian Los Angeles told the story of Ford's Rick Deckard, a man who hunts down genetically engineered androids visually indistinguishable from adult humans known as replicants.
